We are past the holiday period, still another forty eight weeks to go.......it's a marathon........!

 

We would like to wish a happy new year to all,  those, who work in the community, and  help others, the holiday period, is one that can be demanding, as Dave said: "  All this good living can take it out of you, it wears you out."  It can be stressfull!  " I think Jesus was black, that is what i have heard, he was not blond haired and blue eyed,  apparently, in that part of the world, they are dark skinned, " Well done Ronald, that will make people think. As Sylvia added: "  It does not matter, no one knows, the only pictures you ever see, are white ones. if you look around you, it is that way, you have to accept him, i can tell, you are a people person. "  That is Christmas over!

 

Thanks for all the presents, and cards, they will be respected, and used properly - not sold on ebay.  Most of them, out there, have too much already, whatever, you do for them, is not good enough.  Two topics we would like the NGB's to work on, that will help people improve, past the holiday period.  A version of the Health and Wealth Gospel..........!

 

Finances: Paying the bills.

 

" I paid the bill, i contacted them this morning, and told them, we were much better off when we were with BT, we could pay it every three months, then we went to NTL, and Virgin, and we have had nothing but problems..  We had to pay every month, do you really think, i would not pay a bill, i know that bill was paid, when i went to the cashier at the bank she would have told me that i had only paid half the bill.  So i must have paid all of it."  So where is the receipt? " I lost it! "  Where is the bill? "; " I lost that as well! " as a family member said.

 

Champions come in all shapes, and sizes, and it doe not have to be on the pitch, or field to win:  " I pay my bills by direct debit, no problems with that, it is all done."; " I pay all mine, on a weekly basis, fifty two weeks a year, that way is best for me. "; " The bill comes in, i look at it, take it down to the cashpoint, up comes ' bills ' and i press the button, put in the amount, it is all done, that fast."; " I like to go the bank, and see the cashier, all this Internet, don't trust it, this is best, person to person, and they stamp it."; " Telephone banking is best for me, all those free minutes, i use them, you can do it twenty fours a day."; “ I like to sort it out quickly, then you never, hear the knock on the door. " as the CAB person said: " What ever you do, talk to them about it, that is best, don't leave it. " Well done champion bill payers, set the right example.

 

Fitness: Here are some tips

It is quite possible for a kingdom to be inhabited by an able and active population; you may have successful manufacturers and you may have a productive agriculture; the arts may flourish, architecture may cover your land with temples and palaces, you may have even material powers to defend and support all these acquisitions, you may have arms of precision, fleets of warships, but if the population of the country is stationary or yearly diminishing - if, while it diminishes in number it diminishes also in stature, in strength, that country is doomed.  The health of the people is, in my opinion, the first duty of a statesman. There is no secret to to good health other than just plain, good common sense.  You wouldn't let your automobile go along, week after week, month after month, without the proper mixture of oil and gas and overhauling.  Why,  under heaven, do you expect your body to carry on without at least the same consideration?  You wouldn't keep a dog or a horse cooped up in a stall all day without a chance to stretch its legs.  Then why expect to avoid trouble if you treat your own priceless machine in such a manner?  Everybody knows these things, but so few do anything about it.  I have never been able to understand why people are not willing to pay the small price for good health.
 
Doing something you enjoy is important, if you like running: run, for others it may be Football, or Cricket, Bowls, Aerobics, doing the game of Badminton, or Squash may get your blood flowing. Dancing, Golf, Skiing all work wonders,   Doing something that you do not enjoy or can't keep up is a recipe for failure.  The recommended, five times a week, of thirty minutes duration, may be worthwhile.
